A common question fundraisers have to ask themselves is, "When should we host the annual gala/shindig/fundraising event?"
Bigger organizations can host multiple events all throughout the year, but maybe smaller organizations are only able to find the time and money to host one or two a year - which means a lot is riding on that one day.
One of the best things you can do is offer year-round donating through branded websites, emails, online giving, texting campaigns, and more. (And if that sounds good to you, then take a look at what GiveSmart can offer, but I digress.) However, outside of that, what you want to make sure of is that you are making the most out of that one annual fundraiser you host.
To do this, you need to make sure you are hosting at the right time. To help, I have curated some of the pros and cons I have seen in fundraisers during each of the four seasons. And I present it to you here, infographic style!
The Best Time to Host a Fundraiser
As you can see, there are a lot of pros and a lot of cons to each season when it comes to fundraising. However, when making a decision take into account your situation in comparison to these pros and cons.
For example, if your organization is in Maine, then the weather con of winter will be a much bigger deal to you than someone in Miami. Or, if you have a good online donating campaign that is getting you a lot of support in those high giving months, then you might just need something to boost you in the lower giving months, which might make you want to focus on Summer or non-December Winter.
Whenever you decide to host your fundraiser, though, make sure you take a look at how GiveSmart can help you maximize your profits.
